About us
We bought our first Springer spaniel, Narya, in 1987 and she was soon followed by Tracy in 1989. They both proved worthy of our absolute trust in them as hard working spaniels; they were strong, endurable and reliable. Now they are both gone, there have been a couple of other dogs, but right at this moment when I am sitting here writing these words down, there are still two new spaniels lying at my feet. To us spaniels are the natural choice, we can see no need of trying any other breeds than the working Springer and Cocker and right now we have one of each.
We are three human members in the family, Stefan and Annelie and our son, Francisco. The canine members are Nenya, the Springer and Tezla, the Cocker. We live in the north of Sweden, in Umeå, about 800 kilometres north of Stockholm. A look at the map will show you that the town is on the coast of the county of Västerbotten. The county stretches from the east to the west, from the Scandinavian mountain range to the Baltic Sea. Between the mountains and the sea shore, there is nothing but deep woods, the woods where we spend most of our spare time; hunting, fishing and enjoying the outdoor life in general. We could say that without it, we would not be those we are because all we do circles around it. Anyway, we would not want it in any other way.
Strategically placed in that wilderness we have our own house in the country; “townies” like us need a place like that to get away from the hustle and bustle of the ordinary life. That place provides us with the tranquillity and relaxation we need. This is a Swedish thing; it is difficult to live in the country, because there are no jobs and therefore we live and work in town during the weeks, only to flee into the country on weekends and holidays.
Dog training and the hunting with them take up much of our time. To us hunting is just one part of the outdoor life we care so much for; it is a way of life. The life we would like to tell you about on this website.
